Imagine if you had a legacy that would continue to be beneficial hundreds of years after you died. Many people continue to feel these benefits. They are not only your family but also others.

There have been many people who have left a legacy on earth. Legacy of building, knowledge, invention, or productive communities. Legacy in the form of buildings such as the well bought by Utsman bin Affan, the Taj Mahal Mosque, and other historical mosques. Relics of knowledge and invention, such as the electrical current invented by Nikola Tesla and other inventions. Productive communities like Young On Top, TurunTangan, and other productive communities.

Those are just a few parts of the existing legacy. If other people can leave a legacy, so do you. It will be beneficial for hundreds of years to come.

How important is a legacy?

Leaving a legacy is not an obligation. But choice. A choice worth fighting for. Because if usefulness is worth a reward, then we will get rewards that flow even after we die. But we don’t have to interfere with matters of reward. Let it be God’s business.

By leaving a legacy, we can be part of the civilization builder because we are intermediaries or ‘extensions of God’s hand’. We were born on earth to be builders and leaders.

Actually, what is legacy?

Legacy means inheritance or heritage. Inheritance is usually synonymous with our belongings to our children and grandchildren. But inheritance here is more strategic, not ordinary goods, but objects that can continue to be useful for many people if empowered.

For example, a productive land that can continue to produce vegetables. Then, the residents get the harvested vegetables for free. These vegetables will be a benefit that continues to flow.

It’s different when the legacy is tables and chairs. It’s useful. But the benefits are less extensive.

As previous figures have done, we can leave a diverse legacy. It could be legacy objects, land, buildings, knowledge, works of invention, productive communities, etc. In essence, it produces widespread and sustainable benefits.

Are you interested in leaving a legacy? What legacy do you want to leave behind?

Legacy doesn’t have to be something expensive and grand. We can start with something small first. It could be that these small benefits will grow bigger and continue to become a stream of rewards for us. Who knows, our legacy will also become part of the progress of civilization on earth.

Let’s leave a legacy for the next generations.
