Sometimes, one important question will remind us about something. It can change our mindset or it can change our way of life.

I remember when someone asked me about my plan. It’s about what will I do after graduating from college?

It made me think twice because I could not answer the question properly. It doesn’t mean that I did not have a plan at all. I just have difficulty simplifying my plan.

I have a big abstract plan but I can’t digest it into an understandable concept. I thought for a while and I said to him that I will do something about A and B. Perhaps, the answer is very simple. But my blueprint inside my mind is bigger than what I said.

I took time for contemplating my answer. Then I realize that I have to make realistic plans to execute those plans instead. Even though I cannot communicate my plan well but I still figuring out the plan.

I always remember this cliche proverb, “Talk less, do more.”

I now believe that talking will not change our lives unless we take an action, right?

That’s how the question can change my life. And now I will share with you the three important questions that probably will change your life. I am inspired by these questions from the book The Code of The Extraordinary Mind by Vishen Lakhiani.

Here are the questions:

What will you do if money is not an object?

As we know that money is what we are pursuing all the time. But, imagine that you don’t have a problem with money. You have enough money to live. Then, if you have to do something for your life without regret, what will it be?

What things will you grow to achieve what you want?

Perhaps, achieving what you want is not easy, so you have to improve something or grow your skills. These things should support your journey of achieving what you want.

What is your contribution after you grow up and achieve what you want?

It’s still related to the previous questions. It reminds you about what you want to give to the world. As we know we don’t live alone in this world. We are a part of the community. We need to spread our value and contribution for the better.

Those are simple questions but they can change your life if you answer them seriously. It can stick to you, whatever your condition is.

Let me give you an example:

  • What will you do if money is not an object?

Answer: I will build a non-profit organization that focuses on teaching mediocre people how to earn money and improving their economic conditions.

  • What things will you grow?

Answer: I will learn how to build a non-profit organization, I will learn how to build good teamwork, I will learn about leadership, I will learn about business stuff, and I will learn about people.

  • What is your contribution to the world?

Answer: I will support and help to improve the economic condition of people. I will be more focused on the economic area. But it can be spread to other areas.

Last but not least, when you want to change your life, you can ask those three questions first. Then move forward. Start to live a better life. Start to live a meaningful life. And whenever you find a problem, just ask solutive questions.
