“When you are young, work to learn, not to earn.” — Robert Kiyosaki.

When I walked inside the bookstore, I found something interesting. I picked up a book from the bookshelf. The title was Rich Dad, Pood Dad. Luckily, someone had opened the seal of the book so that I can read it for a while.

I opened it page after page quickly. I tried to skim the important points. And I found good words: When you are young, work to learn, not to earn.

It grabbed my attention because I used to think that working was about generating income, especially for a youngster. Then I realized that working was also a learning journey.

There should be a learning experience in the workplace.

When you want to work at a company, so you have to prepare for your learning journey. You have to open up your mind to any life lesson you get. This life lesson will improve your capability at work.

Sometimes, it is good to work on something for free to train your working muscle, skill, and experience. The more you improve your work, the more salary you will earn someday. It helps to build your portfolio too.

It is also beneficial when you want to build a business company. You will have learned any skill and experience of a worker. So, you will understand the technical skill, and you will understand the worker’s feelings.

There are many things you learn at work. You will learn about how to get things done, how to manage your time and energy, how to perform, how to maintain relationships with other co-workers, etc.

Those are more priceless than money. Once you improve those aspects, you will get a better income.

The process of the learning journey will be different. It can be fast or slow. But, it is not the issue. Just focus on the process instead.

It can be different if someone focuses on getting income by doing anything without a learning outcome. So, open your mind, my friend.

There will be some obstacles along the way. The process of learning is not always easy. You will be tired, hopeless, and meaningless. Perhaps, you want to decide to quit.

Be calm. I know that feeling. Quitting is not that bad cause it gives you something to learn. When you learn from it, you will be better in the next place.

Let me give you the conclusion. The conclusion is when you learn many things at work, you can be like plain paper that turns into a paper plane, meaning that you will get better than before.
