We might have a big vision. But this vision is not always easy to be achieved. Some of us were failed in achieving it. Including me. I also have a failure experience that will never be forgotten.

It happened when I couldn’t implement my vision to build a small business company. It’s precisely when I was a new college student. I have a strong will at that time. And I learned how to run a business. However, I didn’t prepare my action. I didn’t make a clear business plan.

According to my experience above, the main cause of my failure was because I don’t prepare it well. It’s about planning and preparation.

Soon I realized that I am an organized person. I mean when I don’t prepare for anything, I can be difficult to handle obstacle or unpredictable condition.

That’s why I consider making a plan for anything, especially if it is important for my life.

We can make an achievable vision by chunk down a big vision into a smaller one. We can call it a 1-year vision.

Before you make a vision, you should be clear with these things: impact, fulfillment, and specific result.

First, you have to identify whether your vision give an impact on other people. Second, you should be happy and feel fulfilled when achieving it. The last, you should know the specific result of your achievement.

I know it’s difficult to achieve a 10-years vision. But, it’s possible to achieve a 1-year vision instead because it’s short-term and small. It’s achievable, right?

From now on, let’s try to imagine your one-year vision. Let me guide you by asking some questions:

  • What specific vision will you achieve this year?
  • How can you measure the progress?
  • Why do you want to achieve it?
  • How important it to you?
  • What do you need to achieve it?
  • How can you get what you need?
  • What is the difference between ‘before’ and ‘after’ achieving your vision?

Those questions are just the beginning. You can improvise it as you want. And it’s okay if you have your way.

It’s easy to achieve a smaller version of a vision.

So what vision that you want to achieve this year?
